Type should be carefully considered as it contributes to the mood and the intended objectives of the graphic project. If the outdoor education trip is one that is fun and educational, then the type should indicate both aspects of the trip. The type face and font are as important as the images. Together they reinforce each other and provide a carefully and consistant theme or mood. Other considerations include: type size, type colour and the placement of the type. Type size indicates the importance of the message. The more important the message the louder or bigger the type. Type colour is significant and should be considered along side of the concept of contrast. Pacing opposite colours together will create a sense of excitement. Placing light type against a dark background ( or vise versa) will create a sense of contrast and help offset the message from the background. Placement of the type is also important as it helps create the space or emphasis that the message may require. Placement of the text such as headers and subheaders also contribute to the layout or the template of the project. Type placement should be a consideration when developing the matrix image.
